DJs in the UK who play transferred & copied music in digital format such as a laptop, CD-r, iPOD, Hard-Drive etc, etc must have a Produb license by law.

Before booking a mobile disco or DJ it's important to ensure they are licenced & legal. Simply ask what format their music will be played on. DJs who ONLY play Factory pressed CDs & vinyl do not need the ProDub License.


DJs who are ProDub licenced are issued with an official certificate & this should be made available to you upon request.
If your DJ isn't capable of producing proof of the license, it may be possible that they could prevented from setting-up by the venue thus ruining your event.
